My name is Susan Hoffstetter and I am a licensed therapist in Illinois with over 16 years of experience. I believe you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you overcome what is challenging you. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, addiction, Bipolar Disorder, and trauma issues.

I am a client-centered therapist who most commonly uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in sessions.

I work with adults with anxiety, depression, BiPolar Disorder, addictions, and trauma issues.
My communication style
I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns and where you don't feel pressured to share what you aren't comfortable sharing yet. My sessions are centered on what your needs are during the session.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist because so many people struggle with their mental health and need help finding relief from their symptoms. I continue to work as a therapist because it helps people feel better about themselves and they learn tools and skills to reduce their symptoms.
My goals for you
I encourage clients to set goals that they feel they can achieve within a certain time frame and to help them explore different solutions.

During the first session, I ask you to share what you are experiencing now and complete an assessment to determine your mental health history.
