My name is Amy Lozano and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Grief Provider. My areas of expertise are grief and loss, religious trauma, life transitions, and anxiety. My desire is to help support those who are working through challenging life circumstances and need to verbally process with a non-judgmental and unbiased third party.
My approach
I used a strengths-based and solution-focused approach when working with clients. I also incorporate attachment and many of the latest grief and loss theories.
My focus
My typical client is dealing with a life transition, be it a job or leaving a faith community, or the loss of a loved one. If you are experiencing an intensive change in your life and you're having difficulty adjusting, I can be a supportive ear and provide you with helpful tools to be able to manage these transitions.
My communication style
I am warm, understanding, and authentic. Everything I share with my clients, I have personally utilized myself.
My journey to mental healthcare
One thing I have learned over time is:‚ The only constant in life is change. We will all go through loss or change at one point in time or the other and sometimes we just need a bit more support. I personally needed some support during personal losses and hope to be able to give back to others needing the same.
My goals for you
My understanding is that goals evolve and change. I work to support my clients in forming goals that will be helpful for them, with the knowledge that they may decide something else needs to change along the way.
My first session with you
The first session is all about getting to know each other and deciding if we are a good fit. I also use this opportunity for you to tell your story.
