Hi there, I'm Emily!

My name is Emily Cassidy and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I work with adolescents and adults, and focus on anxiety and panic disorder, depression, life transitions, and non-complex trauma. I assist clients to meet their goals by focusing on the here and now, utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness. Starting 1/8/24 I will be focusing on seeing 2nd and 3rd shift workers, along with anyone who would prefer early morning appointments (1:00am- 11:00am CST).

My approach

I approach therapy with a strength-based client focus, ensuring that together we are working towards your identified goals. The work I do primarily focuses on the present and future, creating clear steps to move the client forward. I like to use techniques with a focus on shifting thought patterns, leading to more balanced emotions, primarily through CBT and mindfulness.

My focus

I have worked with clients across the age spectrum, 14 years and up. My approach tends to align best with people dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I am also a certified trauma clinician and can assist clients who may have unresolved non-complex trauma, through mindfulness.

My communication style

My communication style is calm and open. I am here to listen to my clients, and provide them with straightforward, but gentle feedback, without judgment.

My journey to mental healthcare

After 7 years working with adolescents living with histories of trauma, neglect, and abandonment; I was motivated to return to school to complete a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. My desire was to continue working with people in need of support, at a more in-depth level. I have been facilitating therapy online for over 2 years now.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting is client-centered and cooperative. I am here to provide you with support and suggestions, but the goals are yours. My role is to do everything I can to help my clients reach the goals they have established.

My first session with you

Our first session will primarily focus on me learning about you, and how you are currently feeling, as well as building a rapport so that you feel safe and comfortable. I will also ensure we have time to address any of your questions and/or concerns.
