Hi there, I'm Dominika!

Hi there, I'm Dominika, and I go by Dee! I am an Integrative Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about supporting my clients' healing on the levels of mind, body, and spirit.

My approach

As an integrative provider, I work from a holistic framework of incorporating evidence-based strategies and wisdom from both western and eastern philosophies and approaches to healing. I see my work with clients as more of a guide rather than an expert and empower my clients to take responsibility for their healing journey by taking an active role in therapy. My main modalities are traditional cognitive-behavioral approaches combined with mindfulness practices and energy psychology tools. I also inform and educate my clients on alternative ways of supporting their minds and body through aromatherapy and complimentary treatments (acupuncture, chiropractic, nutrition), and incorporate the client's spiritual practice in our work together based on client interest.

My focus

I strongly hold on to the belief that we can heal our emotional pain and suffering. Therefore, I have dedicated my practice to working with those who have suffered traumas and struggle with resulting depression, anxiety, and PTSD. In my work, I also help clients learn about appropriate boundaries, stopping people-pleasing tendencies, understanding and developing healthy interpersonal relationships, fixing procrastination at the root, and building emotional intelligence and resiliency.

My communication style

Clients who work with me can expect a warm and accepting presence that is able to hold a healing space through the depths and the darkness that often comes with trauma and depression. Clients can expect to be empowered and encouraged in every step while being held accountable for their own responsibility for their healing and well-being outside of sessions. Clients can also expect an unrelenting belief in their own potential to heal and recover.

My journey to mental healthcare

It seems like my whole life, I have been exposed to the suffering of others and filled with a passion for helping them resolve it. I have witnessed powerful healing of even severe traumas when the wholeness of a human being is integrated and the mind, body, and spirit begin to work together. This made me passionate about attempting to bridge the gap between the potential to heal and access to the resources that can get us there. I don't just want to simply manage the symptoms of my clients, I want my clients to feel empowered to heal the root causes of their issues. I am willing to go as deep as my clients are willing to do this.

My goals for you

When it comes to setting goals for sessions, I help clients focus on what they would like their life to look like and set reasonable expectations for timeframes and progress. We will start with one or two goals and expand or contract our work towards set goals as needed based on progress and capacity to work towards those goals.

My first session with you

The first sessions are usually about getting to know the client, where they have been, where they are headed, and where the trouble spots are in their life. They are about exploring expectations and beliefs around the therapy process, progress, and purpose of therapy. They are also an opportunity for the client to feel into the match with the therapist and decide whether it is a good fit or not, as the quality of the therapy relationship is an important factor in the success of therapy.
