Hi there, I'm Ozell!

I am licensed in Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 10 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, anger management, mental illness, and many more areas. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

My approach

I use an integrative method that incorporates different modalities to help treat those in pain. An integrative approach helps to select the best method for the person in pain. As your provider, you will know each treatment method you are presented with.

My focus

My biggest strengths are treating peers in pain who are experiencing grief and loss, depression, stress, and anxiety. In treatment, we will look at your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that keep us in this vicious cycle of adverse emotions. We will build on strengths to help optimize resources and your recovery.

My communication style

I intend to create a recovery-oriented environment where clients can foster inner strengths, autonomy, and decision-making to take the lead in their journey towards recovery. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. We can expect to communicate casually through storytelling, or more structured styles.

My journey to mental healthcare

I am licensed in Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 10 years of professional work experience. I attended Concordia University Chicago where I attained a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Shortly after, I attended and completed the Illinois School of Psychology for my Doctoral Degree. I currently work as an Executive Director of a Specialized Mental Health facility, as an Independent Therapist, and have done work for local police departments in crisis response.

My goals for you

I partner with clients to identify and implement goals that they choose. I hope to empower you to take charge of your recovery process.

My first session with you

In the first session, clients can expect an environment that fosters rapport building, gentle and warm startups to casual communication.
