I am Latrice Annette Maric, a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and an international psychologist (Ph.D.) with several years of experience in individual psychotherapy. I work with a diverse clientele on a variety of life concerns, such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, and cultural diversity matters. I view therapy as collaborative with clients and therapists both in setting treatment goals as well as working toward those goals.
My approach
My view of therapy is collaborative with the client and therapist participating as equal partners in goal-setting and uncovering internal or external barriers to personal growth. Some goals may be to improve communication skills or coping skills, or others, thus working toward goals together. With an integrative approach, I draw upon family systems, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness yet tailor therapeutic approaches or goals uniquely to each individual.
My focus
I have worked extensively with clients presenting with anxiety, depression, and general life transitions.
My communication style
Therapy is personal and intense, thus difficult moments will likely occur as expected during deep internal processing. I notice clients tend to heal over time when open to the challenging questions I pose or skills I propose to develop. Although collaborative, I still ensure space for clients to do their own reflecting and processing and I will challenge them to go beyond the surface.
My first session with you
The first session is typically information-gathering, getting to know one another to determine fit, and discussing reason(s) for seeking therapy. We discuss treatment goals, and next steps, and answer questions.
