Hi! My name is Briena Wyckstandt and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I offer many therapy approaches with specific training in EMDR, DBT, and TF-CBT. I have experience working with all age ranges but most specifically teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma.
My approach
The most common approaches used during sessions would be CBT, DBT, EMDR, and TF-CBT. These approaches can be used for various reasons, anywhere from anxiety to complex PTSD.
My focus
I have specific experience and training working with children/teens. My training and experience also include adults and all age ranges who have experienced one/complex trauma(s).
My communication style
I feel it is important to have a person-centered approach. Building the relationship is a key element in the therapy approach and, therefore, important to let clients know what control they do have in the therapy session as well as transparency.
My goals for you
Goal setting can be done in various ways with the essential piece of communicating with the client and having an understanding of their wants/needs.
My first session with you
Communication, active listening, compassion, assessment of needs, support, clarification on what to expect moving forward, and mutual understanding of expectations of sessions.
