I'm Justin Kozak an LCPC q with slot 10 years of experience. To me, therapy is an equal partnership where we come up with goals together and work to achieve them. I have a wide range of experience and I'm open to working with anyone.
My approach
The approaches I use are solution-focused, person-centered, and motivational interviewing, with some parts of CBT. I typically try to tailor my approach to each current individually.
My focus
I am willing to work and assist anyone in their journey to be a better person and have worked with people from all walks of life. I am comfortable addressing most issues people are experiencing, but I have the most experience addressing behavioral issues, substance abuse, and trauma.
My communication style
I feel like the world can be hard and stressful so I approach therapy with an upbeat and positive outlook. Working with me feels like talking with someone who is reliable and confident, but will encourage you to not give up.
My journey to mental healthcare
What brought me into the field is growing up in an area that had few if any mental health professionals and seeing how badly it was needed. I am driven to help people better themselves and to better my community.
My goals for you
To me, goals are made as a partnership. They should reflect on the client's ways to achieve in therapy.
My first session with you
During the first session, I will work to build your trust and earn your respect. I will hear what brought you in and take the time to see if we are a good fit for each other. Sadly there will be some boring though necessary paperwork as well.
