Hello! My name is Audrey Jackson and I am a licensed clinical therapist. My specialty areas include anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, and negative thoughts and behaviors.
My approach
My effective therapy approach is client-centered and skill building. I utilize cognitive behavior therapy, trauma-informed cognitive therapy, and motivational interviewing to help clients identify areas of concern and to become stronger in their coping skills.
My focus
Although I usually work with adult individuals, I also welcome couples who want to experience happier and more effective experiences in their relationships.
My communication style
When you are in a therapy meeting with me, you will feel immediately comfortable and accepted. There are no formal requirements or prior therapy experiences needed. You will appreciate that you are working with a very good listener.
My journey to mental healthcare
I'm in the field of social work because I enjoy seeing others become stronger and more confident. I grew up in a large city that was populated by individuals and families who faced many challenges. Unfortunately, they did not have the resources to seek out help to address those challenges. It is important that people always feel that they have a way to get better or to challenge situations that cause them pain or unhappiness.
My goals for you
It is important that people who seek therapy work on the issues they have prioritized. There is no directive from this therapist on what is most important. Clients are usually the best experts on what they want to accomplish and it is important to respect their values.
My first session with you
When meeting for the first time, I extend a warm welcome and let clients know that I can best help them to identify their best outcomes by getting a brief history and by hearing what they believe is the most important issue(s). I also inform clients that if there is a reason to assess their personal safety, they will be advised on what options they can pursue.
