Hi! My name is Leslie Travia, my license is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. My approach to therapy is that every person is worthy of self-value and self-worth. I focus my therapeutic care on being straightforward and believe respect is most important. I do work with those who have suffered from trauma and change of life adjustments.
My approach
My approach to therapy has included Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
My focus
The clients that I typically work with are teenagers, mature adults and couples. I have experience dealing with trauma, sexual/gender identity and anxiety/depression.
My communication style
I create a space where you as the client feel most comfortable. From the beginning, every client is aware that they are 1) the driver of their therapeutic process and 2) that the client will always have the choice to change their therapist if the need arises.
My journey to mental healthcare
Being a therapist is an honor to me. I am driven to be in this field due to my belief that each person has a right to be heard. In addition, each client can process their life in a safe place.
My goals for you
I approach goals based on where the comfort level is with each client. I believe that goals are short and long-term.
My first session with you
During our first session, immediately my clients should expect to hear about their rights through our therapeutic relationship. In addition, my approach to therapy and confidentiality will be discussed. Each client will be given the opportunity to inform me of why they are wanting therapy.
