My name is Kim Knoeller, LCSW (Lic# C008086). Therapy is a journey of self-discovery, growth, healing, understanding, forgiveness, and grace. The journey is individual and personal, sometimes painful and often joyous. I am honored to have been invited along on many journeys to guide, teach, support, validate, and connect. I work with many diagnoses and clinical issues, couples, and individuals. I am successful with many cultures including military families, the LGBTQ community, Latin/Spanish, and Indian (Asian).
My approach
I utilize several modalities including CBT, DBT concepts, EMDR concepts, trauma treatment, neurolinguistics, Gestalt concepts, emotionally focused therapy, family systems concepts, substance abuse treatment, and mindfulness/present awareness.
My focus
I work with adults and adult couples. I am most skilled and practiced at working with depression, anxiety, bipolar, borderline personality, substance use/abuse, gender and sexual orientation expression and experience, trauma, stress-related responses, adjustment disorders, and romantic relationship issues.
My communication style
I strive to create an inviting, safe, and accepting environment where we can be open, honest, and challenging in order to create the change you want. I am personable, funny, on time, and consistent.
My journey to mental healthcare
My drive to be an effective therapist has come from my experiences throughout my career. The blessing is mine that I am invited to be part of the healing, growth, change, and acceptance that my clients experience.
My goals for you
Goals are set by you. I join others on their journey to becoming comfortable with and making peace with all of their feelings, all of themselves, and all of their past.
My first session with you
In the first session, my introduction includes an introduction to my space, what can be expected of me, and scheduling. Clients are then met with validation, openness, acceptance, and compassion as their story unfolds.
