My name is Magda Zapata, I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor. I am here to work with you to manage and overcome your own challenges in life and be able to help you live your life with a sense of ease and fulfillment.
My approach
My approach to therapy combines various evidence-based techniques to help best meet the individualized needs of my clients. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, mindfulness/meditation, person-centered, strengths-based therapy, trauma-informed CBT, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic, and narrative therapy.
My focus
My experience includes working with adolescents and adults of diverse backgrounds in outpatient, residential, and hospital settings. I work with individuals, families, and couples and provide services in both English and Spanish. I specialize in anxiety, depression, bipolar, OCD, substance use disorders, trauma, grief, self-esteem issues, family conflict, adolescent/teen issues, couples/marital conflict, life transitions, career transition, and stress management.
My communication style
My goal is to provide a genuine, compassionate, and supportive environment for my clients and provide them with the tools to help them navigate their own thoughts and emotions in a healthy and positive way.
