Jaime Pitingaro

Hi, my name is Jaime Pitingaro and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone and flexibility is key. I specialize in adolescents and young adults. I have experience with anxiety, depression, school refusal, and trauma.

My approach

I like to use Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also am interested in collaborating with clients to find solutions to the challenges they face.

My focus

I have years of experience working with children and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, and disruptive behavior. I also have experience working with adults in the telehealth setting with issues including depression, anxiety, adjustment challenges, and relationship problems.

My communication style

I am compassionate and empathetic. I love to listen to my clients and validate their experiences. I offer a sense of warmth and acceptance in my sessions.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was initially attracted to therapy after having gone through a difficult experience and needing the support of a therapist and struggling to access someone. I love this work because people do get better and change is evident.

My goals for you

Goal setting is a collaborative process with the client and therapist having input. Ultimately, the client decides their goals and what they want to work towards in therapy.

My first session with you

In the first session, clients should expect exploratory questions. We will establish the groundwork for their expectations of therapy and general guidelines.
