I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 11 years of experience. Specializing in depression, anxiety, and panic disorders, I have worked with diverse age groups. I provide empathetic therapy, using evidence-based techniques and a client-centered approach. My goal is to create a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, collaboratively work toward their goals, and equip them with effective coping skills.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is rooted in a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. By integrating these modalities, I aim to provide comprehensive and individualized support to my clients.
My focus
I typically work with adolescents and adults facing a wide range of challenges. My areas of expertise include anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorder, as well as depression and mood disorders. I am also experienced in working with individuals struggling with stress management, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. Additionally, I have a special interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and helping them navigate the healing process.
My communication style
In my therapy sessions, I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment. I believe in fostering a safe space where clients can openly express their thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. My approach is collaborative, and I value the unique perspectives and experiences of my clients. Together, we work as a team to explore their challenges, set goals, and develop practical strategies for personal growth and well-being. It is my aim to provide support, guidance, and encouragement throughout the therapeutic journey, allowing clients to feel heard, understood, and empowered.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was initially drawn to a career as a therapist because of my deep-rooted passion for helping people who are hurting or struggling. Witnessing the immense impact that mental health challenges can have on individuals and their loved ones inspired me to pursue a path where I could make a meaningful difference in their lives. The opportunity to provide support, guidance, and empowerment to those in need is what truly drives me in this work. Seeing my clients overcome obstacles, find resilience, and experience personal growth fuels my dedication and reinforces my belief in the transformative power of therapy. It is an honor and privilege to be a part of their healing journey and to contribute to their overall well-being.
My goals for you
I adopt a collaborative approach to setting goals with my clients. I believe that therapy is most effective when clients have an active role in identifying and shaping their goals. In the beginning stages of therapy, we engage in open and honest discussions to gain a comprehensive understanding of the client's concerns, desires, and aspirations. Together, we explore their strengths, values, and areas of growth. Based on this understanding, we work together to establish clear and achievable goals that align with their unique needs and aspirations. These goals serve as a roadmap for our therapy sessions and provide a sense of direction and purpose throughout the therapeutic process. Regular feedback and ongoing dialogue allow us to assess progress, adjust goals when necessary, and celebrate milestones along the way.
My first session with you
During the first session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere where they have the opportunity to share their story and concerns. I will take the time to actively listen and ask relevant questions to gain a thorough understanding of their background, current challenges, and therapy goals. We will discuss confidentiality, the therapeutic process, and any questions or concerns the client may have. It is also an opportunity for the client to get to know me, ask questions about my approach, and see if we feel like a good fit to work together. By the end of the first session, clients should have a clearer understanding of what therapy entails and feel more comfortable and supported as we embark on the therapeutic journey together.
