My name is Danielle Wolman, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R) based in Westchester, NY and work with adults living in the surrounding areas of NY state via telehealth. I specialize in anxiety, stress, and situational life events (relationship problems, job stress, and caregiver stress). My foundation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I work with a variety of therapeutic modalities to make sure your therapy is tailored to you.
My approach
My key approach is to create a warm, relatable, and safe environment. I believe that in the therapeutic relationship, real healing cannot begin without feeling safe and having the ability to bare it all.
My focus
I typically work with adults who need assistance learning how to live and manage life stressors in healthier ways. My specialties include physical anxiety symptoms/panic attacks, stressful changing life events, relationships, and anger management.
My communication style
I like to think of our relationship as a special partnership. I have the skills, training, and knowledge in mental health, but that does not mean I am "all" knowing. In my therapy practice, we work together as a team.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey started at the tender age of 5 when my grandmother Mickie saw I had a pension for mischief. Still, instead of scolding me or making me feel scared or ashamed, she would draw me in and have me "sit" across from her on her plush couch, and we play "Dr. Ruth" it was here, on that couch, that I learned how open communication and active listening can change the human condition. I owe all of this Journey to you, Grandma.
My goals for you
In our work together we will start by looking at what is drawing you into therapy and work to come up with small obtainable goals, so that you can see and measure your progress.
My first session with you
You should expect to feel connected and comfortable to begin our journey together.
