I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Prior to obtaining my license, I served as a music therapist (MT-BC) in a variety of settings for ten years. I have had the pleasure of assisting those with numerous needs and strengths including children and adults with special needs, youth in the community, psychiatric, and educational settings, adults with severe and persistent mental illness, trauma-informed treatment, forensic care, geriatric settings, and end-of-life care. In addition to this, I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), a Reiki Master, and a certified yoga instructor. All my experiences have illustrated not only the perseverance of human nature, but also the potential growth and healing anyone is capable of achieving.
My approach
My sessions are shaped by my client-centered and existential orientation. The academic training I received was psychodynamic and also leaned on attachment theories. Following completion of my Master's degree, I pursued trauma-informed training in order to deepen my practice.
My focus
As noted above I have worked with numerous individuals, all with varying needs and strengths. Currently, much of my focus is assisting persons enduring depressive and anxiety symptoms, life transitions, relational issues, and stress, as well as those interested in personal self-exploration.
My communication style
I strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere that is safe, non-judgmental, encouraging, and nurturing.
My goals for you
As your therapist, we will work together to explore the matters currently affecting your efforts toward your highest potential for well-being. The treatment I provide is client-directed. Goals are based on the results clients wish to achieve by engaging in therapy. Additionally, goals are finalized together and re-evaluated across sessions.
My first session with you
During our first session, you can expect a safe, and non-judgmental space. The session might feel more conversational as you tell me about yourself, personal and health history, and what brings you to treatment.
