Robin Grace

My name is Robin Grace and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My license number is 9252.I believe is working with the client where they are and using tools that fit the needs of the client. I have worked with may different type of clientele. I have worked with children & teenagers, couples & families and people with minor disabilities such as autism.

My approach

In my approach I have used CBT, person centered therapy. I have used DBT and solution focused. I have also used play therapy.

My focus

The clients that I have worked with have had depression, anxiety, and some have been oppositional deviant. As well as suicide ideations and body dysmorphia.

My communication style

I create a quiet serene type of environment with the lights turned down low and candles. I am a team player and work well with others in conferring and collaborating together.

My journey to mental healthcare

I am a former school counselor of sixteen years and I feel like in the school system and that in that setting one can not get the most out of counseling. I want to assist others tackle some of the pit falls of life and accomplish better mental stability.

My goals for you

I discuss with them their problem and then conclude what they would like to work on first. Then I find out from them what is the goal they would like to achieve from therapy. Then we discuss several different techniques that may assist them, such as role play, journaling, solution setting and checking them off as they are achieved.

My first session with you

They should expect to get to know a little about me. I expect to get to know a little about them. Especially what brought them to counseling. Most of all I want them to begin to feel comfortable with me and feel like I can assist them. I also would like them to leave with some preliminary goals to get them started on their wellness journey.
