Hi, My name is Olivia! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor whose interest is in providing empathy and understanding to my clients in order to promote healing, happiness, and a state of calmness and peace.
My approach
As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.
My focus
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a trauma-based treatment to address more intense traumatic events that may have caused Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD) or other various psychological conditions promoted by traumatic events. I consider myself eclectic, by applying additional complementary therapeutic approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavioral patterns or negate perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
My communication style
I am an active listener with a willingness to provide my clients with the time and understanding they need to express their therapeutic needs. I provide a non-judgemental zone where clients can have a safe place to express their thoughts and feelings on the issues that may be affecting them.
My journey to mental healthcare
My career in counseling started addressing child victims of crimes where I addressed various issues from physical and sexual abuse, self-mutilation, and substance abuse. I later began working in long-term health care facilities where I gained expertise in personality, adjustment, mood, thought, and neurocognitive disorders such as Dementia and Alzheimer’s. I also maintained a private practice where I address various other concerns. My interest has also been in addressing trauma which took me to train in EMDR addressing conditions such as PTSD.

My first session with you
My goal in the first session is that we familiarize ourselves with each other address why you have sought counseling and then begin to devise a treatment plan that is appropriate for you.
