Greetings! I am Lauro Guzman; I am a down-to-earth clinician, and my goal is to help you better understand and resolve challenges in your life. We first complete an evaluation to gather relevant information about your past and your current circumstances. We can then look for the source of your problem or identify behavior patterns that may be keeping you back from a healthy, balanced life.
My approach
I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy in therapy sessions.
My focus
Clients I work with include adults ages 18 to 99 and address the following conditions: depression, anxiety, anger management, and stress. I do not work with couples or families. I also do not complete FMLA /employment leave paperwork.
My communication style
I enjoy sessions that are relaxed and comfortable. Open dialogue and a bit of humor are encouraged.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was drawn to a career as a therapist because of my childhood and adolescent experiences, and I am motivated to help others in their process of betterment.
My goals for you
I discuss primary issues that a client needs to address and any additional issues they may want to focus on during therapy sessions, and then prioritize these issues.
My first session with you
The first session will include greeting, introductions, and an interview /assessment that includes predetermined, generic questions designed to obtain a client's personal and family history.
