Hi there, I'm Sara!

I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about helping and serving others. I embrace being a part of someone's journey; for you to feel heard.

My approach

Although I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, my main approach is client-centered. I will meet you with support, empathy, and unconditional positive regard to providing a safe and therapeutic environment. Collaboratively, we will work together to identify and achieve your treatment goals.

My focus

My main interests are helping individuals who use substances to manage underlying mental health concerns, working through unresolved trauma, and learning how to cope positively with anxiety and depression.

My communication style

I provide active listening, reflective feedback, and encouragement during each session to assist in constantly building and maintaining the therapeutic relationship. My main goal is to provide an open and honest space so you can verbalize your thoughts and feelings without judgment.

My journey to mental healthcare

Having to navigate through my own struggles, I can relate to feeling hopeless and alone in my journey. Being a therapist is me wanting to provide a safe and therapeutic place for anyone seeking help and to assist others in feeling they're not alone in this process.

My goals for you

I will work with you weekly on identifying short-term goals and assist you with identifying long-term goals based on the information you provide me during our sessions.

My first session with you

My first session is to help begin the therapeutic relationship. This includes asking you questions about your background and why you decided to come to therapy and then working together to identify a plan for the next steps. I will provide the opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about therapy and provide my contact information to better assist in your treatment process.
