My name is Kathy Keith, MA, a Licensed Professional Counselor. My approach to therapy is humanistic, personal, and problem-focused. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the client's needs, including personal, cognitive behavioral, trauma-focused cbt, ACT therapy, reality therapy, interpersonal and positive psychology. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, OCD, and other mental issues. I also have experience working with adults, teenagers, and couples.
My approach
The most common theoretical approaches I use are CBT, Interpersonal psychology, Trauma Focused CBT, Reality Therapy, ACT, Mindfulness, and positive psychology.
My focus
I typically work with adults, teenagers, and couples.
My communication style
I work hard to create an open, nonjudgment environment in which the client feels accepted and respected. I hope that working with me is comfortable and supportive of feeling safe and respected.
My journey to mental healthcare
I came from a dysfunctional family. I had mental health issues as a young woman, and when I sought therapy for myself, I discovered that I had a lot to learn about having better-coping skills to become the person I wanted to be.
My goals for you
My approach to setting goals lets the client determine what goals they want to work on.
My first session with you
During the first session, I want to get to know the client and listen to the problems and concerns they are seeking therapy.
