Hi. I'm Adrienne Parker and I'm an LPC with over 10yrs of training and experience. I enjoy working with a variety of different populations and backgrounds. My approach is honest and direct with a goal to provide a safe and non-judgmental space.
My approach
The most common theoretical approaches I use are CBT, Solution Focused, and Person-Centered. I do modify my approach based on the person, level of engagement, growth and gains.
My focus
I work with clients ages 12-60. My approach is very open and accepting regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, beliefs, or lifestyle. I want my clients to feel comfortable with me knowing that I will be an ongoing advocate and source of support.
My communication style
I create a familiar environment where you don't have to sensor yourself or worry about showing up on your worse day. I want my clients to embrace self-love and self-compassion. In life we all deal with our fair share of growing pains and life lessons; I understand the importance of feeling connected. I'm here to empower and challenge you to be your best self.
My journey to mental healthcare
I've known I wanted to be a therapist since the age of 9yo.
My goals for you
When it comes to goal setting, typically, I encourage my clients to create the goals they feel are appropriate while I create some of my own. During the second session, we compare notes, and together we determine which ones we'll use and which ones we should address first. I believe you are the expert on you, and I respect what your concept of "Happy" looks like.
My first session with you
During the first session, it's important to develop rapport and establish comfort and trust. After gathering background information, I work with the client to identify what they need most.
