Greetings! I'm Sasha My name is Sasha Douglas, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults specializing in anxiety, stress, depression, and eating disorders. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.
My approach
My therapy approach will vary based on each client. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as both modalities have been effective for the success of the client.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for young adults to a geriatric population who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and eating disorders. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life.
My communication style
My communication style is personable, open, and safe. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist because I have always been a great listener. I always wanted to help people solve their concerns. Whether it was as a peer, friend, family member, or coworker, I have always naturally been the person that people came to for help through difficult times. I enjoy seeing individuals become the best person that they can be.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is all about allowing what the client would like to achieve during the time in therapy. This will start by building trust and getting comfortable with being in therapy. Over time, we will work together to set goals and track your progress.
My first session with you
During our first session together, you can expect us to spend time addressing what you want to get out of therapy. The reasons why you signed up for therapy, and me asking questions to better understand how I can assist along the way. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me understand how we will move forward with the upcoming session. Each individual is different, and I like to listen first before moving forward.
