Hello, I am Kimberly Fleischer, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I have eight years of experience, and I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, hospitals, non-profit organizations, and schools. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and parenting issues.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is eclectic and client-centered. I believe it is a disservice to my clients to do the same thing with every person I work with because everyone has different needs. Therefore, I have been cross-trained in a wide variety of counseling theories and techniques. My goal is to intentionally tailor a treatment plan that is uniquely yours in order to give you the best possible outcome. I don't want therapy to be a box you check off of your to-do list, but, rather, I want it to be a meaningful experience that you truly benefit from.
My focus
I enjoy working with a wide range of clients including children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in treating anxiety, ADHD, depression, and parenting issues. Although these are my specialty areas, I have eight years of experience working with clients with more complex diagnoses including bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, ASD, self-harm behaviors, and suicidal ideation. I consider my practice to be welcoming and inclusive to all.
My communication style
Sessions with me are very conversational. I like for my clients to feel like they have control of the session, so they can focus on the topics and problems that are the most relevant to them. My role is to listen, guide, and challenge when necessary.
My first session with you
The first session is typically short and includes a series of questions designed to help me get to know you. We will go over your current symptoms and stressors, and I will get some background information regarding your past, family history, and the issues you are currently facing. We will discuss your goals, and identify the areas you would like to work on. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
