My name is Elida Perez, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy is to provide support in a non-judgmental, safe space. I work with individuals who are dealing with a variety of issues, such as major life transitions, emotional stress, loss and grief, and difficult relationships.
My approach
From a strength-based perspective, I use a combination of evidence-based techniques such as CBT, DBT, SFBT, and Motivational Interviewing. I collaborate with the client to uncover and amplify their innate strengths in order to create a better, healthy future.
My focus
My experience is working with people suffering from challenges stemming from depression, anxiety, life changes, self-esteem issues, and grief/loss.
My communication style
I provide a safe, warm space for clients to start their journey toward healing.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a social worker over 20 years ago because I enjoy helping people uncover their potential and grow as individuals. I have previously worked in child welfare, foster care, acute hospitals, and inpatient psychiatric units.
My goals for you
I believe everyone knows themselves best. My goal is not to tell the client what to do but rather to help them uncover their next steps.
My first session with you
During our first visit, expect questions as I get to know you better. We will talk about the issues that bring you to therapy, and we will talk about the strengths you bring as well. By the end of the first session, we will have goals to work towards.
