Hello! My name is Michelle Corley. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Texas. I take a collaborative approach with my clients as we work together to accomplish your goals. My main focus in my practice is working with women who are struggling with perinatal and postpartum mental health concerns.
My approach
The most common theoretical approaches that I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Techniques.
My focus
I generally treat young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and a history of trauma. My practice focuses mainly on women struggling with postpartum mental health, infertility, and pregnancy loss trauma.
My communication style
I am clear, open-minded, and non-judgmental with my clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
I always say that I did not choose to be a therapist. It found me! I was a woman who struggled with infertility and recurrent pregnancy losses. I struggled with finding adequate resources to help me during my time of need. I wanted to be there for others who were going through a similar situation. Therapy helped me, and I believe it can help anyone!
My goals for you
Goal setting is generally discussed with the client in the first 1-2 sessions. I ask my clients what they want to work on. We then explore what symptoms they are struggling with and how we can create a treatment plan together to meet their needs.
My first session with you
Clients should expect someone who is there to listen to their struggles. I will also be there to help guide them in a positive direction treatment-wise.
