Nyla Rogers, LMFT. I am a skilled, compassionate, non-judgmental professional with 25 years of experience helping adolescents, teens, adults, families, and couples. I am very passionate about helping people to become healthy, happy, and productive in their lives. I provide a safe harbor for exploring issues that may be rocking the boat at home or the office.
My approach
My approach to therapy is ECCLECTIC. It is all about you!!! Depending on your needs and issues, I will create an individualized treatment plan, just for you! Therapies I have implemented in the past are Humanistic, CBT, DBT, Art, Family Systems, Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), and Gottman Couple to name a few.
My focus
I have worked with teens, parents, individuals, the elderly, and families. Anxiety, OCD, Depression, Bipolar Teens, ADHD, Adults with ADD/ADHD, Oppositional Defiant, Women's Issues, Transgender and Gay issues, Couples, Grief, Caregivers, Self-Esteem, and School issues. I am comfortable working with these issues and have enjoyed what I have learned from my clients as well.
My communication style
I provide immediate support, enhance your coping skills and remind you to breathe. Humor is also used when appropriate, laughter is a huge part of our healing process. In order for me to be able to help you, I provide a safe harbor, where you will be comfortable enough to trust and open up about what you are struggling with at this time.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became aware of the physical, sexual and emotional abuse among our children in the 90s. I wanted to help these kids and adults who had suffered these traumatic events in their life. I started out as a Social Worker helping kids in foster care. I knew at that time that I wanted to work with this population for the rest of my life. If I can help someone turn around their life allowing them to be happy, healthy and productive I have served my purpose in this life. We don't get to choose our families, but we can choose how we live our lives. I want to help guide you on your journey toward peace and happiness.
