Hi there, I'm Melanie!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. In 2010, I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from the University of Houston-Downtown. I continued my educational goals by completing a Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Prairie View A&M University in 2014. I have an extensive history working in social service and mental health agencies. I have worked with adults, children of all ages, families, and couples to encourage emotional and mental growth, self-awareness, and the development of healthy relationships. My therapeutic style aligns with cognitive behavioral therapy and on building strengths and improving self-efficacy through short and long-term treatment. I have also trained in Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients cope with negative life experiences to reach their full potential. My hobbies include art, reading, traveling, poetry, and listening to music.
