Hi there, I'm Jay!

My name is Jay Cherry. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I believe the therapeutic relationship is key to recovery. Important aspects of this are empathy, warmth, humor, genuineness, and a nonjudgemental attitude. I believe all humans are capable of change.

My approach

I employ Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and techniques tailored to the individual.

My focus

I have worked with ages 3 to 100 successfully in my 25-year career. At this time I prefer 16 and above.

My communication style

My communication style offers a Safe, nonjudgemental, and empathetic environment. It feels soothing and affirming to work with me.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have always been interested in the human condition, even as a child. What drives me to do this work is my empathetic nature and my confidence in my skills.
