I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, working with clients within the states of Virginia and Texas, and I would love to connect with you! With over 10 years of experience in serving adult individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and more, one of my beliefs is the importance of maintaining an authentic environment. With the use of various tools and therapeutic approaches, I seek to help each client understand their abilities and create a path toward confronting challenges.
My approach
With the belief that each person has a unique set of strengths, past experiences, and abilities, during each session we will hone in on these unique aspects and aim to utilize the best therapeutic approach tailored to each individual's needs. Oftentimes this includes the application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Client-Centered, and Integrative Therapy.
My focus
I have assessed and worked with a variety of ages and conditions; however, I am most enthusiastic about my work with adult individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions.
My communication style
I have found that my style of communication is calm and inviting, as my goal is to promote an environment that helps a client feel comfortable. I also strive to listen with an open mind.
My journey to mental healthcare
While relocating to various places as a military spouse and working in different environments, I noticed a need for potential clients to obtain therapy services outside the traditional office setting. Oftentimes, there seemed to be a limited number of available providers to meet the demand of those individuals who could most benefit from therapy services. Some of the factors that created barriers to accessing services included: a lack of available leave time for personal appointments, inaccessible childcare, transportation issues, or obstacles leaving home due to health-related or personal issues. I wanted to provide an experience that was just as effective as therapy performed in an office setting.
My first session with you
During our first session, I will ask questions to be able to better determine what your needs are and how I can help. Therapy works best when I am able to gain an idea of how you are feeling and any symptoms associated with that feeling. We may also discuss your current and past relationships
