Hi there, I'm Christina!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Virginia with 16 years of working with people navigating a variety of life circumstances. I enjoy 1:1 therapy using various therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and interpersonal therapy techniques to equip clients with better problem-solving, stress management, and coping skills. I have a passion for working with teenage clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and anger management issues. I provide a therapeutic platform where the teenage client can vent their feelings in a neutral space but also expect gentle confrontation to develop deeper insight into their thinking and behavior patterns. My work with this population has encompassed identifying healthy ways to interact with oneself in addition to peer groups, family, and school systems. Over the last 6 years, I have developed a commitment to older adults (55 years and older) and persons with chronic illnesses. Consistent themes of treatment with aging and chronically ill clients include loss of independence, cognitive and physical decline, trauma, and social isolation. The goals of treatment relate to examining one’s life purpose, resolving crises and grief in addition to increasing empowerment and autonomy. I also work with caregivers of all ages to acknowledge strain and stress and devise strategies to achieve balance while juggling various life roles.
