Mary Kay Rose

Hello! My name is Mary Kay Rose and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I believe that counseling offers a safe space to explore concerns, challenges, hopes and specific intentions and desires you may have for your life. I look forward to the privilege of connecting with you and together, creating a relationship that will support you in being present in your life and relationships and moving forward in ways that you desire.

My approach

In our work together, I will draw from holistic theoretical approaches that are based in mindful awareness, acceptance and in honoring and working with thoughts, emotions and the grief process. Some of these approaches include CBT, EMDR, ERP, ACT, MI, body focused awareness and Yoga philosophy.

My focus

People who work with me are often adults or couples going through life transitions, experiencing loss, change or transformation, anxiety or OCD, or perhaps wanting a safe place to land to manage effects of traumatic events or experiences they have had in the past or are dealing with presently. I feel privileged to support people to become more present in their lives, connect deeply with themselves and their values and move toward desired intentions and outcomes.

My communication style

People describe me as caring, nurturing, accepting and say that they feel comfortable to shared deeply with me. They also say that they appreciate the empathy, warmth and authenticity in our sessions.

My journey to mental healthcare

I strongly believe in counseling and feel honored to be able to offer counseling professionally, as it has been an integral part of my own growth and life journey.

While I have expertise and experience to share, we will set goals and intentions together, as I believe you are the expert in your own life. The process of our therapy will be co-creative as we work together toward desired change in your life.
