Hi there, I'm Lauren!

Hi there, I'm Lauren! I am a results-driven and values-based Clinical Psychologist with a demonstrated history working with diverse populations, including veterans, college students and post-grads, LGBTQ+, and individuals in underserved populations. As a professional philosophy, I believe that a good therapist pays attention to what the person is saying and not saying, especially if what they are not saying has something to do with the environment in which they had/have to function.

My approach

I am primarily a third-wave Cognitive Behavioral psychologist, believing in a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. I help you uncover motivating factors and the root cause of problems instead of only addressing issues on the surface level. For instance, if you want to manage your anxiety, depression, or trauma-related problems, we will dive deep into dissolving the brain-based behavior patterns and belief systems that maintain your symptoms. I blend therapeutic techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, attachment theory, and multiculturalism. What's unique in my approach is I don't just provide traditional psychotherapy--I provide neuropsychotherapy, and the bulk of what I offer is rooted in the latest findings in neuroscience.

My focus

I currently offer individual therapy for adults only at this time. I specialize in the treatment of trauma (both complex trauma and PTSD) and anxiety-based disorders, particularly OCD. I am also experienced in treating a wide range of issues, including ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality (BPD), Chronic Pain, Coping Skills, Cultural Stress, Women's Issues, Depression, Divorce, Emotional Disturbance, Gender Identity, Grief, Infidelity, Life Coaching, Life Transitions, Marital and Premarital, Men's Issues, Peer Relationships, Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum, Racial Identity, Relationship Issues, Sexual Trauma, Sleep or Insomnia, Stress, Substance Use, Suicidal Ideation, Testing and Evaluation, Trauma, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Women's Issues.

My communication style

I believe in a warm, supportive, and direct communication style. I see therapy as a safe space for you to share things with which you feel stuck, ashamed, or embarrassed--things you often hesitate to share with a significant other or even say to yourself.

My journey to mental healthcare

Helping people get unstuck and guiding them through the transformation process is incredibly rewarding. I feel grateful to have found my true passion. I invite you to reach out, and let's start your transformation journey today!

My goals for you

I foster a collaborative approach to goal setting and believe that the client is the expert in their own lives. I see myself more as a guide, and the client remains the primary driver in their journey.

My first session with you

During the first therapy session, we will detail the treatment plan to tailor it to your unique needs and discuss the management of therapy expectations. I then coach and collaborate with you to translate your goals in therapy into values and actionable objectives that are specific, measurable, and, most importantly, meaningful.
