Hi there, I'm Cari!

Hello! I am Dr. Cari Oliver, Clinical Psychologist. Through collaboration and relationships, I work with my clients to eclipse the obstacles of life, helping them achieve fulfillment. I will meet you with empathy, and open-mindedness, and provide a safe and comfortable space for you to deal with life issues and grow into a healthier you.

My approach

Research has shown that the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between a therapist and a client. I am honored to be considered part of your journey toward a more fulfilling life. I am highly invested in each person I treat, and I am very interactive in sessions. My aim is to help you gain new perspectives, manage your stressors more effectively, and achieve a sustainable sense of peace in your day-to-day life.

My focus

I have a special interest in supporting clients who struggle with complex trauma, and those with personality disorders. I also have experience working with the military and veteran populations as I spent some years working with the DOD and a VA hospital.

My communication style

My approach is to combine empirically supported treatments with interpersonal sensitivity and attention to the unique needs of each client. My clients describe me as warm, genuine, and straightforward.

My journey to mental healthcare

Motivated by personal experiences and a wish for healthier, more fulfilled people and communities I pursued my doctorate from Regent University after having practiced at the master's level in clinical psychology at a community mental health center. Through working in private practice and the VA, I have fully shifted to working with adults dealing with deeply rooted issues that have perpetuated dysfunction through various stages of their life.

My goals for you

I am here to help you make attainable progress toward your goals and gain skills to manage day-to-day stress, as well as be successful on your journey to a more fulfilling life.

My first session with you

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. It is a space for you to share why you are seeking treatment and for us to begin to build a plan to help you start a journey toward reaching your goals.
