I am bilingual, licensed, and certified in the areas of substance abuse and mental health. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, a Master Addictions Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Certified School Counselor. I have taught most psychology courses at the community college and university levels. I also have experience as a case manager with a managed care organization as well as an Employee Assistance Professional, where I served as a Department of Transportation - Substance Abuse Professional.
My approach
Therapeutically, I work as an eclectic therapist, focusing on motivational interviewing, client-centered therapy, and positive psychology.
My focus
I have experience working with adults and adolescents. Most recently, I have been working as a Military and Family Life Counselor in Japan. While in Japan, I was assigned to an elementary school working with the students and stakeholders of military installations. I have also consistently practiced with adults in community practice. I am bilingual in English and Spanish languages.

I provide a safe, non-biased, and non-judgmental environment. My work is client-centered so that the therapeutic relationship is productive and developmental.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have worked in the helping professions since attending university and have worked in various mental health and substance treatment programs around the country. I enjoy working with individuals and feel that I have the ability to listen, hear, learn, and implement resources for growth and development.
