Kai, known to many as Kai, was born and raised in the southernmost isles of the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago. As a licensed professional counselor and certified mental performance consultant who has experience both in a clinical setting and athletic environment, I am based in Williamsburg, VA but work with clients statewide via Telehealth.
My approach
I utilize several theoretical approaches in my work with clients including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strength-based, and solution-focused. My goal is to support you in addressing any difficulties you are faced with while focusing on your strengths and guiding you in achieving wellness, happiness, and success in your life.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach is a good fit for adults who may be dealing with the challenges related to life transitions, relationships, and career. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, and stress. I work to help my clients navigate these challenges while developing skills to cope effectively and improve their outlook on life.

I believe that by being direct, genuine and empathic you will always feel supported, respected, and will trust the work we are doing together as we strive towards your goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
Devoted to supporting others to grow and overcome any challenges they face, I began my career within the field of mental health in 2013 and have gained experience in a variety of clinical roles, especially in an outpatient therapy setting where I have worked with hundreds of individuals managing challenges with depression, anxiety, self-esteem and more. Dedicated to helping other professionals grow and pursue a career within the field of counseling, I have also taught and supervised graduate students at several universities, including Northwestern University and Holy Names University.
