I care deeply and believe people can adapt to their life circumstances if given the necessary tools. It is not for lack of will, but for lack of skill, that people are not thriving. Therefore, my focus in therapy is to equip and empower individuals, couples, and families to achieve healing.
My approach
My approach is eclectic and tailored to each individual client, using person-centered counseling, CBT, REBT, Solution focused, EMDR, Gottman Couples method, and a series of other modalities. I aim to be culturally sensitive and provide trauma-focused, strength-based, and supportive therapy.
My focus
I have specialized in working with trauma and see clients dealing with PTSD, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and relational, marital, and phase of life issues. I am willing to see individuals, couples, and minors aged 13-17. My specialties include adolescents/teens, aging, anxiety, behavioral issues, career counseling, divorce, family conflict, grief, life transitions, marital/pre-marital counseling, older adults, parenting, racial identity, relationship issues, school issues, self esteem, trauma and PTSD, and OCD.
My communication style
Having lived on three different continents, I possess a rich multicultural background and a love for diversity. I speak English, Spanish, and French on a native-speaker level, allowing me to effectively communicate with clients from various backgrounds.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to mental healthcare began with two decades of experience working as a missionary. This unique background instilled in me a deep passion for helping others and equipped me with valuable cross-cultural skills. I then pursued my education, earning an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University, to professionally provide therapy services.
My goals for you
My goal for you is to provide the tools and skills necessary to thrive and successfully adapt to life's challenges. Through our work together, I aim to empower you to achieve healing, personal growth, and improved well-being.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will focus on understanding your unique needs, concerns, and goals for therapy. I will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your story and collaboratively develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your values and aspirations. This initial meeting will lay the foundation for our therapeutic relationship and set the stage for your journey towards healing and personal growth.
