Hello, My name is Angela Marshall, and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Virginia. I am focused on meeting you where you are and using everything I know to help you meet your goals.
My approach
My approach is client-centered; I gravitate towards utilizing ACT, CBT, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and bibliotherapy. I want to work with you collaboratively to establish your goals and a treatment plan that will provide you with hope and positivity.
My focus
I have worked with a wide variety of issues and support clients with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and bipolar disorder. eating disorders, PTSD, and trauma.
My communication style
I listen to you differently than your mother or friend in a way that helps you move forward and gives you a safe space to share your experiences and issues to work toward meeting your goals and moving forward.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have been a bachelor's level counselor and social worker since 2001 and obtained my Master's degree in 2016 in order to become licensed. I have always been drawn to a career path that involves helping people.

I am here to help you establish your goals and work toward the awareness and insight you will need to be able to move forward in your life.
My first session with you
Our first session will be collaborative to be able to establish the goals you have for counseling, answer any questions that you may have, and establish a connection for moving forward. I want you to feel comfortable with each other, on the same page, and ready to be able to work on your goals.
