My goals for you
Goal setting is an important aspect of therapy that helps clients identify and work towards specific objectives. I typically approach goal setting with clients by following these steps: Collaboration: The therapist and client work together to identify the client’s goals. The therapist may ask questions to help the client clarify their objectives and ensure that they are realistic and achievable. Specificity: Goals should be specific and measurable. This helps clients track their progress and stay motivated. Relevance: Goals should be relevant to the client’s needs and values. This helps clients stay engaged and committed to the process. Time-bound: Goals should have a clear timeline for completion. This helps clients stay focused and motivated. Once the goals are established, the therapist and client work together to develop a plan for achieving them. This may involve breaking down larger goals into smaller, more manageable steps, or identifying potential obstacles and developing strategies for overcoming them. It’s important to note that goal setting is a collaborative process that involves ongoing communication and feedback between the therapist and the client.
My first session with you
During the first session, you and I will complete a psychosocial assessment to determine your needs and goals. I will review with you all consents, and explain how therapy can help you.
