Hi, I'm Janice Valdez, a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I am here to listen when you are ready to tell your story. You have the power to make the changes you desire, and I am here to help you through the process. I look forward to meeting you!
My approach
As a therapist, my approach is person-centered with a touch of narrative, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I provide a safe place for you to share your story. We all have a story, and the good news is we are still writing it!
My focus
I provide individual therapy to clients dealing with various issues, including addiction, depression, anxiety, grief, and more.
My communication style
In our sessions, I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and validated. My communication style is empathetic and direct. I'll ask thoughtful questions to understand your story and provide gentle guidance as we work together to write the next chapters in a way that aligns with your values and goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
My career began by providing services to individuals who suffer from addiction. From there I worked with children, and now primarily with adults with mild to moderate diagnoses. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. From Nov 2018 through Dec 2020, I completed my clinical hours for licensure.
My goals for you
My goal is for you to feel safe, valued, and heard in your journey through growth and healing. I will provide a safe place for you to tell your story as well as provide you with the tools needed for growth and change.
My first session with you
Each first session is as unique as each client. We will collaborate on your individual needs. My goal is for you to feel safe and valued as we find your individual needs, goals, and expectations for therapy.
