I am a mental health counselor with a Master of Science in Professional Counseling. I take a client-centered approach to working with all my clients, as each person is unique, and a specific treatment plan will accommodate healing.
My approach
My overall approach is mindfulness-based, as I believe that our thoughts and the emotions related to those thoughts control our life. I have extensive experience with trauma, and I am EMDR-trained.
My focus
I work with individuals and specialize in anger management, anxiety, coping skills, depression, life coaching, self-esteem, spirituality, stress, trauma and PTSD, weight loss, and older adults.
My communication style
I utilize acceptance and commitment (ACT), client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral (CBT), culturally sensitive, mindfulness-based, person-centered, solution-focused, and trauma-focused modalities in my practice.
My journey to mental healthcare
Personally, I have struggled with anxiety and depression at various times in my life and have used many different modalities to affect change in my life. My own experience with anxiety and depression has taught me that our thoughts are the key to being at peace through this journey of life. This motivated me to pursue a career in mental healthcare to help others on their healing journeys.
My goals for you
My goal is to create a customized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs that will facilitate your healing process. I aim to equip you with the mindfulness skills to manage your thoughts and emotions so you can find greater peace and fulfillment.
My first session with you
In our first session together, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and begin to explore your personal history, current challenges, and aspirations. This will help me understand your perspective so we can collaboratively map out a therapeutic plan to help you progress towards your goals.
