Hello! My name is Becky Wu and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have extensive experience working with adolescents, individuals, and families in public agency and community-based settings. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, culturally humble, strengths-based perspective: focusing on radical acceptance and self-compassion.
My approach
My therapeutic approach uses interventions from Process-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Ego-State, Solution-Focused, and Humanistic modalities.
My focus
My specialty areas include depression, anxiety, childhood developmental trauma, trauma and stressor-related disorders, self-esteem, spirituality, school issues, occupational issues, stress management, and LGBTQ issues.
My communication style
My communication style is client-centered, warm, engaged, relational, and evidence-based.
My journey to mental healthcare
To me, being a therapist is more than a job: it is a calling. I am passionate about providing clients with exceptional care, to help them through difficult life situations and circumstances.
My goals for you
I believe in honoring the client's autonomy and agency. I approach goal setting with respect and collaboration.
My first session with you
In our first few sessions, I focus on building rapport and answering questions about my therapeutic style so that you may make an informed decision about whether I am the right therapist for you.
