Hi there, I'm Hengameh!

MY SPECIALTIES, BACKGROUND, AND PERSONAL INTERESTS I have been a licensed Psychologist since 2011 with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Post-Doctoral training in Neuropsychology. My specialties include working with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, couples issues, women's issues, and multicultural issues. MY CLIENTS I enjoy working with both adults and adolescents; of the adults, many struggles with dissatisfaction in the midst of success. They see their life as good "on paper," but still, they feel emptiness or a lack of clear direction or purpose. For some, this looks like chronic anxiety or symptoms of depression. Others struggle with compulsive shopping, eating, or substance use. Relationships are important to my clients. Some have difficulty connecting with their partner or feel a lack of belongingness with their friends or family. Many struggles with disconnection from their loved ones, their lives, or themselves. I help them to overcome barriers to the connection so that they can find more fulfillment. I also work with adolescents (15+) who may have academic difficulties, "acting up" in school or engage in self-harm. Like many teenagers, they struggle to figure out who they are and want to be. MY APPROACH I am trained in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and psychodynamic therapy. This means that I think about your challenges from multiple perspectives. I try to help you not just fix the pressing issue of the day but also make deeper, more lasting changes. As someone who immigrated to the US at the age of 21, I know what it feels like to adapt to a new culture. My multicultural and multilingual background allows me to provide you with a broader perspective on your world.
