With over twenty years of experience in a practice focusing primarily on personal issues and improving relationships. For me, therapy is about providing a safe, non-judgmental space, free from social pressures and prejudices, and labels. I see therapy as a partnership and dialogue between the therapist and the patient, where together we tackle challenges and questions and think and work together to craft answers.
My approach
I have different approaches according to the patient's necessities. I was trained in psychoanalysis, CBT, trauma focus, EFT, mindfulness, and attachment theory, among other therapeutic interventions.
My focus
I provide individual, and couple therapy, including treatment for depression, anxiety, and I help patients work through a variety of other issues: grief and mourning, family/relationship conflicts, issues around infidelity, sexuality and coming out, and mood disorders.
My communication style
I am particularly respectful and sensitive to ethnic-cultural differences; fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese, I previously lived and practiced in Latin America, Mexico, and New York. I believe strongly in a multi-disciplinary approach to therapy, using a variety of techniques and ideas to find what works best for each patient.
My journey to mental healthcare
I had my first approach to therapy when I was 14. Struggling with adolescence syndromes, and feeling confused about the future, my older brother (who was studying psychology) suggested to my parents that I would benefit from starting psychotherapy. I grew up in Buenos Aires Argentina, and the perception of attending therapy was not surrounded by prejudice. I was seen as an emotional intelligence development. At home, we are 5 siblings, and 4 of us are currently in the mental health field.
My goals for you
I provide a comfortable and respectful therapeutic setting. Most of all, I believe in creating a healthy partnership to help individuals achieve a fulfilling sense of self and zest for life.
My first session with you
During the first session, patients will have the opportunity to talk freely about their needs and concerns in a calm, respectful, and relaxed environment. The client will be seen, heard, respected, and validated.
