As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment with unconditional positive regard where each person can feel understood and accepted as their true self. I believe the therapy experience is a unique and dynamic process for each individual on their path toward self-realization.
My approach
I approach therapy from a client-centered, strengths-based orientation. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and couples using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and others. My aim is to help clients develop coping skills, manage emotions effectively, and build fulfilling relationships.
My focus
I work with individuals dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, borderline personality, mood disorders, grief, trauma and PTSD. I believe every person has the innate capacity for healing and wellness within themselves.
My communication style
In our sessions, you can expect me to listen with empathy and without judgment. I will work to understand your unique experiences and collaborate with you to identify your strengths and inner resources. My communication style is warm, accepting and focused on creating a safe space for you to openly share and process.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was drawn to the mental health field through my belief in the power of human connection and my desire to support others on their healing journeys. I earned my Master of Social Work degree and went on to complete specialized training to become a Level II Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and to provide EMDR treatment for trauma symptoms.
My goals for you
My ultimate goal is to empower you with the self-awareness and tools to manage life's challenges, heal from past wounds, and live a more authentic, fulfilling life. I aim to help you gain insight into your thoughts, feelings and behaviors, build on your inherent strengths, and make positive changes to enhance your wellbeing and relationships.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will start to get to know each other and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I will ask about what brings you to therapy and listen to understand your unique story, challenges and goals. We'll discuss the therapy process and I'll answer any questions you may have. Most importantly, my priority will be to establish a safe, supportive environment so you feel comfortable to share openly as we embark on this journey together.
