My name is Konstance Kirby and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I specialize in working with disadvantaged children, adolescents, and adults. I have obtained vast experience assisting those struggling with anxiety, depression, stress management, low self-esteem, and mood disorders. I was trained as a family systems therapist and practice short-term, goal-orientated treatment to help people reach their goals quickly.
My approach
My practice will involve an array of different treatment modalities, from CBT to motivational interviewing, I try to cater the therapeutic approach to what best serves each individual.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for individuals to learn how to counter negative thoughts, regulate emotions, tolerate moments of distress, communicate effectively, and mindfully stay within the present moment. My ideal client would like to learn these skills in order to manifest their ideal life and be the best version of themselves.
My communication style
My communication style is personable, accommodating, and clear. I want my clients to have a genuine and sincere feeling during the session, and I pride myself on my ability to offer a safe space for clients to do so.
My journey to mental healthcare
Funny enough, I decided to become a therapist while I was in graduate school. Initially, I only wanted to run a sports program for youth using my degree. I believe the tools I obtained from sports helped me become the person I am today, and I want to help others in the same way sports helped me: boosting mood, reducing depression and stress, increasing self-confidence, and improving leadership skills. I enjoy helping others become the best versions of themselves.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is all about what you want and need from therapy. What are your challenges, opportunities, and aspirations? And how do you measure success and satisfaction? We will work together to set goals and track your progress.
My first session with you
What you can expect from our first session together is for you to spend time talking about specific things in your life, including details about your background, history, symptoms, relationships, health, and goals. I will be asking some questions and you will have space to share whatever you can that will help us create a clear picture of what you want to accomplish through therapy.
