Hello. My name is Nancy Sandoval-Morton, LCSW. I'm a bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist with over a decade of experience treating people who have experienced trauma and those struggling with major life challenges. I am passionate about helping survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault which, is the area where I have gained most of my professional experience. Through a Resiliency-Informed approach, we can address issues related to PTSD, anxiety disorders, relationship problems, low self-esteem, grief, and other intense emotions. I feel honored to witness people's most vulnerable selves and to be entrusted with stories of joy or sorrow.
My approach
My approach is strength-based and empowering. I believe that education is truly key. So I tend to use psycho-education and psychodynamics to explore how childhood or earlier experiences impact your current mental state and interpersonal relationships. I also make an effort to use my training in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Trauma Resiliency Model to help people recognize and reduce the impact that anxiety, stress, and other intense emotions have on the body and mind.
My focus
My main specialties and areas of focus in therapy fall under trauma-focused (e.g. IPV, sexual assault, birth trauma, child abuse, immigration issues) or stress-related (e.g. major life changes, work stress, family problems, relationship issues). Trauma and stress can lead to PTSD, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, self-esteem issues, and poor concentration, among other issues that often come up in treatment.
My communication style
I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where people can work on regaining power and control over their lives. Through this therapeutic relationship, we can improve self-awareness, coping skills, interpersonal relationships, and self-worth. You deserve to live a fulfilling life. Let's work on healing and improving overall wellness.
My journey to mental healthcare
My work is dedicated to my late friend, Crystal Rose. Through her story I found purpose and it led me to a career where I am able to help people heal from trauma.
