I want to work with people who are willing to try something new, to try something different, to take risks, to be vulnerable, to explore, and to discover. I want to extend myself to those finding themselves ready to push through conflicts by collaborating with me on the process of being honest and comfortable in our skin.
My approach
I have been trained in the following areas while providing such services bilingually (Spanish): substance abuse, domestic violence, anger management, trauma, child & adolescent therapy, anxiety, depression and family systems therapy.
My focus
In my experience, I have worked through issues of sexual addiction, trauma, gender, race, and identity. What I have gained in my work through therapy revolves around each of us finding our voice in order to stand up to injustices while pursuing peace and resolution.
My communication style
I integrate a direct communication style and approach to treatment in efforts to make the experiences of treatment be as straightforward and clear for clients to work through and conceptualize.
My journey to mental healthcare
Having multiple questions around my family and experiences that we lived through in childhood, adolescence and as a person of color led me to the path that I have been on over the last 17 years as a therapist.
My goals for you
Pertaining to goals I integrate a collaborative approach. I can make recommendations and elicit from the clients their desires and plans.
My first session with you
People are walking into the most vulnerable of places with therapy...I am honored to be working with individuals through their courage and vulnerability. Please let me know how I can be of service!
