Hello, I am Dr. Beverly Norton, a licensed psychologist with over a decades of experience. I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds facing various challenges and obstacles in their lives.
My approach
My therapeutic approach incorporates techniques like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as methods developed by John and Julie Gottman in my work with couples. I have seen great results using these evidence-based practices.
My focus
I focus on helping individuals struggling with a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ concerns, ADHD, and addiction. I am committed to providing a supportive and non-judgmental space for my patients to explore their experiences and work towards healing and growth.
My communication style
I communicate in a warm, direct manner, fostering a safe space for open dialogue. Drawing upon my training in EMDR and Gottman methods, I listen attentively and offer insights to guide you in processing experiences, problem-solving, and working towards your therapeutic goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from Argosy University in Point Richmond, CA in 2007. This rigorous training prepared me to effectively support people in their mental health journeys and ignited my passion for this meaningful work.
My goals for you
My goal is to empower you with the tools, insights, and coping strategies needed to navigate life's challenges, enhance your wellbeing, and foster personal growth. I strive to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust, understanding, and the belief in your inherent strengths and resilience.
