Hello, I'm Shannon, a licensed therapist with over 13 years of experience. I'm passionate about mental health and helping others not just survive, but thrive. My life experiences as a mom to 3 boys, a military spouse, and a military Veteran myself have shaped me into the therapist I am today.
My approach
My approach to therapy focuses on key lifestyle factors that may contribute to a client's current emotional state, such as diet/nutrition, movement, sleep, and spirituality. I provide active listening, a non-judgmental atmosphere, and tools and techniques tailored to individual needs to help manage problems or symptoms.
My focus
I most often work with individuals experiencing increased stress, including trauma responses, that lead to symptoms of anxiety, debilitating anxiety, depression, physical aches/pains, self-confidence issues, substance misuse, relationship and/or occupational problems, and safety concerns.
My communication style
Compassion and a natural ability to help people feel at ease are strengths that allow me to cultivate a positive therapeutic experience for clients. I aim to provide a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to mental healthcare began with my own personal experiences working through issues in therapy. Coupled with my background as a military spouse and Veteran, these experiences motivated me to become a therapist and help others navigate life's challenges. I completed my clinical hours for licensure from July 2006 to May 2008 at David Grant Medical Center (USAF) in Fairfield, CA and the 628th Medical Group/ Behavioral Health Clinic in Charleston AFB, SC.
My goals for you
My goal is to empower you with the tools, insights and support needed to improve your mental well-being, build resilience, and lead a more fulfilling life. I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey towards personal growth and healing.
My first session with you
In our first session, we'll discuss what brings you to therapy and collaboratively identify your goals. I'll provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your story and we'll begin to develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your unique needs and objectives. This session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine if we're a good fit to work together.
